Drupal patch crowd funding platform

Posted by PatchRanger on August 16, 2012 at 4:32am

Ever wanted some bug to be fixed or new Drupal Commerce feature to be implemented – but do not have enough funds to hire developer? I did and I don't. Please help funding implementation of Drupal Commece Marketplace functionality using a power of crowd funding : I have already put "my 2 cents" - but it is not enough I guess.
In this case PatchRanger project - the first Drupal patch crowd funding platform - can help.
1) Create an issue on Drupal.org Drupal Commerce issue queue as usual (or find one that already exists) that is annoying you.

Security bugs: Bounties vs. Blackmarket

Posted by greggles on March 27, 2012 at 8:17pm

I just read this article on forbes: shopping for zero days which points out that bounties for bug reports are less valuable when the black market is willing to pay much more money for the issue.

Of course I hope that people will always report security issues to security@drupal.org and work with that process to fix issues it's an interesting read, nonetheless.

Hey all!

Need a down payment (partial payment) module developed for Ubercart for a couple clients. Posted on the Ubercart bounty forum:

Was working with a guy who has a number of Uber-modules under his belt, but he went MIA so now kind of in a crunch. Any recommendations of people who could knock this out?

Issue Bounties

Posted by lambic on February 8, 2010 at 7:24pm

I'm looking for opinions on offering bounties:

  • Is it considered appropriate to offer a bounty to fix a bug sitting in an issue queue? If so:
    • Should the offer be made to the module maintainer directly or to anyone who wants to fix it?
    • What is an appropriate amount to offer (obviously this depends on the size of the fix, but I'm looking for general ideas)
    • Is there a way to manage the bounty agreement so both parties are protected or is it simply a matter of trust?

Community Bounty Site

Posted by philbar on April 15, 2009 at 4:05pm

This topic was brought up during April's Meet Up. I'm posting a discussion here to get more input.

Mission of the Bounty Site

  • Allow non-developers to get the functionality they need for their Drupal sites.
  • Reward developers for the hard work they contribute to Drupal.

I propose a website be created where people can submit requests for project development which are associated with community driven bounties.

Collaborative funding for new OpenPackage Video features

Posted by jbrown on May 17, 2008 at 11:24pm

OpenPackage Media has developed a new collaborative funding technique: Bounty.

Bounty works like this: Participants make a pledge to pay a certain amount of the bounty. Once the bounty has been fully pledged, they are billed for 50%. Once we have completed the bounty task, participants are billed for the balance.

Read the orientation guide for full details.

We have created two bounties for our OpenPackage Video module to start with:

If these go well, there will be many more to follow. Please consider pledging (even a small amount).

Bounty: Code snippet to organise view alphabetically

Posted by blogjunkie on January 10, 2008 at 10:05am

Hi Views Developers,

I admit that I joined this group just to post this bounty, but I would really appreciate your help.

I'm trying to create a view that outputs nodes like this - http://www.lawteacher.net/contractlawcases.php

I'm currently building a similar case law library. I've created a Case Law content type and given it a taxonomy with terms like Contract Law, Criminal Law etc.

We use the ChipIn system to manage donations. If you would like to contribute to the development of one of the features you can donate through its ChipIn widget.

Starting a Group Fundraising Campaign

Posted by Walt Esquivel on December 13, 2006 at 3:06pm

Before initiating a fundraising campaign, there are five important questions you’ll need to answer as mentioned in How to Use the Internet for Group Fundraising.

What issue does your campaign target?
Where is the money going to go?
Who can you ask for financial support?
When do you need to meet the fundraising goal?
How are you going to convince people to support the campaign?

There is additional helpful info at On Group Fundraising
