Is Drupal Ever going to get with it when it comes to Video

Posted by spasebar on June 8, 2012 at 9:05am

Drupal is already such a powerful system but sometimes I am just amazed at how little progress it has made when it comes to being able to play videos and stuff. You have to go through a million different modules, read a million different installation guides, find the correct version. etc.. it's so aggravating.

In Wordpress all of this is so simple. Anyway, that is my rant... and now my question is has anyone been able to get the Video Module working with Drupal 7.14?? If so, WOULD YOU MIND TO PLEASE SHARE?

Use Flickr for image hosting for Media Gallery upload?

Posted by therobyouknow on March 14, 2012 at 12:49pm

The Media module image gallery uploader is great: robust, multiple batch uploading.

However I would like to ask if a project is being considered whereby Flickr is used as the hosting of the images?

This would provide 2 benefits:
1) publishing content to a wider audience on more platforms without duplicate effort i.e. to the site and to flickr at the same time
2) reduced bandwidth and filespace used on the hosting - particularly for budget and shared hosting

user warning: Table 'DB985380.upload'

Posted by r0ber on November 16, 2011 at 11:38am

user warning: Table 'DB985380.upload' doesn't exist query: SELECT * FROM files f INNER JOIN upload r ON f.fid = r.fid WHERE r.vid = 55 ORDER BY r.weight, f.fid in /mnt/webc/70/68/52850268/htdocs/modules/upload/upload.module on line 561.

Gracias de antemano.

How to send an Image to a Drupal Services 3 endpoint using json

Posted by stilllife00 on August 6, 2011 at 6:27pm

Hi all!
I'm having a trouble during a simple Android application development. I'm trying to add a simple News on my Drupal site from the Android application. I created a new content type called "News" with 2 strings (title and body) and a Image field. I sent to my site a title and a body and it works correctly using JSONObject class.

upload_insert: Inserts attached files into body

Posted by mac2000 on July 11, 2011 at 5:45am

This module adds insert buttons to attached files list (upload module), that inserts it into body in selected format. So there is no need in monsters like IMCE, Wysiwyg-imagefield etc., work out of box, supports wysiwyg, imagecache etc. Also when node deleted its files also deleted (via upload module).

Only local images are allowed.

Ayuda con Upload Button

Posted by soncco on April 6, 2011 at 3:29am

Saludos:

Which Drupal photo upload/management suite of modules is best for OpenPublish: 1) image and related modules 2) flickr and related modules 3) open publish's own?

Posted by therobyouknow on March 5, 2011 at 10:03pm

I have 3 requirements for publishing my own photos on my own site
1) multiple batch uploading
2) integration with an external photo sharing network to widen my presence on the web i.e. so that my content will get seen elsewhere which will draw people to my site. The photos themselves would either hosted on the external site and referenced by my site OR a copy is on my site and on the external site
3) low resolution versions, but not too low available on the site, with ubercart integration should people wish to buy a hires version - expecting occasional trade here at best but would like to learn about this aspect.

Uploading Soundslides Presentation Folder

Posted by jrearick on November 3, 2010 at 4:20pm

Soundslides http://www.soundslides.com/ is desktop software that will generate a Flash slideshow from a set of images and an MP3 file. It seems to be pretty popular with news organizations and communications offices around here. The software creates a "publish_to_web" folder which contains the swf and several directories of resources (sized images, mp3 files, settings, etc). What is the best way to allow a user upload this folder to the server and attach it to a node?

Scalable file upload backend?

Posted by BartVB on February 25, 2010 at 9:36am

I'm in the process of setting up Drupal as the CMS for a large community site. This is is going to get a fair amount of image/video uploads which are put into /sites/default/files/ This works well for a few hundred to a few thousand files but after that performance and maintainability starts to degrade.
