"Large" Multisite / Domainaccess Hosting & Deployment

Posted by macdev_drupal on January 31, 2017 at 1:27pm

We are running about 50 Drupal 7 Multisites + 1 Domainaccess Site with 10 Domains on a 2x 64GB 16 Core Cluster Nodes with Apache mod_php with apc and mysql stack.

The multisites are utilizing all the same codebase and just differ in usage of content and node types.
At the moment there are 3 mysqld running on the host.
We are thinking about splitting the 50 multisites in 2 halfs and run another mysqld for that.

One of our main problems is, that deployments with changes to many features could take several hours at the moment.

Performance issues with INNODB vs MyISAM

Posted by deja711 on April 23, 2015 at 8:18pm

Not sure where is the most appropriate post for this, let me know if anybody has suggestion.

I am having performance issues with INNODB. My major issue is that with INNODB I am getting approximately 20 times slower performance than with MyISAM. For the purpose of testing I have used Drupal 7 with devel module installed. Further more I used 2 bare bone servers with default installations so I can do parallel comparisons.

Just a heads up that the beta 1 of the Asynchronous Prefetch Database Query Cache module https://www.drupal.org/project/apdqc is now available.

From my testing this will eliminate all deadlocks & metadata locks for all cache tables.

MySQL5.5でデータ移行に苦労しました

Posted by wataru.kato on November 6, 2014 at 9:28am

http://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/75328/row-size-error-with-mysql

ERROR 1118 (42000): Row size too large (> 8126). Changing some columns to TEXT or BLOB or using ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC or ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED may help. In current row format, BLOB prefix of 768 bytes is stored inline.

Migrate SQL Server database to MySQL

Posted by erg-web on August 5, 2014 at 10:00am

Hi,

We have a current Drupal 7 site using SQL Server 2012 but need to export the database and import into MySQL.

SQL server has worked ok but due to the lack of module support we need to change the database to MySQL.

Are there any steps to do this online specifically for a Drupal website?

MySQL data recovery

Posted by michaels23 on May 1, 2014 at 4:30pm

Can anyone recommend a MySQL data recovery service? One of my servers has corrupted the /var/lib/mysql files and the host claims they don't have a backup. (I'm skeptical of that. I think we're mis-communicating.)

In the meantime, they've suggested I look for a MySQL data recovery service to repair /var/lib/mysql. Can anyone in the group recommend such a service?

TIA !
