Using webform and UC: uc_webform_productize -- an analysis

Posted by joachim on July 21, 2009 at 4:01pm

I'm currently looking at http://drupal.org/project/uc_webform_productize with a view to how it could be used for event registration.

My current use case is:
- one site
- several events
- registration is paid
- events have options such as how many days you want to attend, diet requirements. these affect price.

e-Commerce 6.x-4.0-rc9 has been released

Posted by gordon on May 31, 2009 at 5:43am

Hi,

I have just released rc9. I have been a doing a lot of work on it over the past couple of days changing the checkout to use ctools object cache so that I could get PalPal Express working in Drupal 6.x. Because of changes to the formapi in Drupal 6, and because you need to leave the checkout to go to PayPal and then come back it was just not working.

PCI DSS compliance for ecommerce

Posted by stevestaso on May 28, 2009 at 5:30am

As a follow up from a question at the May 26 meeting, I looked into what it takes to become PCI DSS compliant.
I thought I'd share what I learned. (PCI DSS = Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)

Summary:
I don't think Ubercart needs to be PCI DSS compliant. However, if you use a partner like Authorize.NET to process the card, you can be considered PCI DSS compliant if you perform and attest to a self assessment.

Saving Credit Card Numbers

Posted by gordon on May 20, 2009 at 4:47am

Hi,

I am looking a little down the track and I was just wanting to gauge the interest in allowing customers to save credit card numbers for later use.

eWay (and I am guessing others) supports a method which allows users to save their credit cards for later use. Would people be interested in having a feature like this for their customers.

Also (forgetting patent isues) this would be the first step for allowing users to have single click purchasing.

Let me know if this is something you would like.

Gordon.

Ubercart without checkout

Posted by 2ndmile on May 5, 2009 at 5:43pm

There is a little organic farm nearby that my wife and I buy a lot of food from. The couple that runs the farm are great people. I started talking to them about their current site and how it was not suiting their needs or doing much for anyone else (prepare yourself mentally and physically before clicking this link http://www.robertsfarm2004.com/).

e-Commerce charges

Posted by gordon on April 12, 2009 at 6:48am

I have done quite a bit of work over the past few days and I have gotten the new charge system working really great. In actual fact I think that it is working better than I ever imagined.

ATM I have not built all the componets that I want to build, but it is still kicking butt. Also remember this new charging system that has been built replaces shipping, discounts, tax modules and is all pretty much just point and click to build new charges.

one ebook seller's experience of Google Checkout

This may be of interest to members of this group. "Google is Evil, Worse than PayPal: Don't use Google Checkout for your business" describes an ebook seller's unfortunate experience with Google Checkout.

Ubercart for Donations / Contribution Usage

Posted by rszrama on March 10, 2009 at 3:13am

So, I made it to the last few minutes of the Churches and Ubercart BoF at Drupalcon DC and may not have the full picture on what was discussed. As such, I'm going to use this thread to just spec. out what I see as the desired solution for enabling church websites (and other non-profit organizations) to take donations online. It seemed like the folks in the BoF were willing to get behind a proposal, fund it, and start implementing it on their various sites.
