Attempting to remove references and wikilinks
[edit ]Information icon Hello, I'm Ohnoitsjamie. I noticed that one or more of your recent contribution attempts have been disallowed by an edit filter as they did not appear constructive. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. If you believe the edit filter disallowance was a false positive, please report it. Feel free to ask for assistance at the Teahouse whenever you like. Thank you. - As you can see from the log, the filter told me my edit attempt was disallowed for using capitals, which it interpreted as "shouting".
- However, the capitals I used were acronyms (FBI, to mean Federal Bureau of Investigation and LA, to mean Los Angeles) as well as Wiki shortcuts (such as WP:OR), which both necessitate capitals.
- Can you confirm that my report has been submitted as it is important to me to follow appropriate guidelines while editing. CounterpointStitch (talk) 13:54, 2 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- You hit several filters, including the one for new users removing references. Please use the article's talk page to discuss changes to the article. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:57, 2 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

Contentious topic notice
[edit ]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in Michael Jackson. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. "translated from fr.wiki") and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added the edit summary for you. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help Mccapra (talk) 14:23, 27 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Hi, thanks for this, though just a note to say my article is entirely my own work (i.e. I didn't translate the French page, I think both articles just make use of information from her birth/death certificates). All the best. CounterpointStitch (talk) 16:06, 27 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Autopatrolled right
[edit ]Hi as I have reviewed a number of very well-written and well-sourced articles you’ve written, I’d like to suggest that you apply for the autopatrolled right at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Autopatrolled. This makes no difference to how you create articles but it would mean they don’t need to wait to be reviewed and would automatically be sent to search engines for indexing. It would help us reviewers by taking your new creations out of the work queue. All the best Mccapra (talk) 14:50, 27 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Thanks very much for the advice, I'll do this! CounterpointStitch (talk) 16:07, 27 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
Autopatrolled granted
[edit ]Hi CounterpointStitch, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Dr vulpes (Talk) 03:49, 28 December 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
