Fate

[edit ]

The article is somewhat contradictory as to her fate, I take it that she was seized by the British, stashed in the Great Bitter Lake, and then the British sent her for scrap in Italy? FlagSteward (talk) 22:06, 4 May 2008 (UTC) [reply ]

By coincidence I spotted this myself; I've rewritten it to the effect that it was taken by the British, and then returned to Italy for scrapping in 1948, but I have no idea if this is correct, I have only altered the grammar. Most sources say that it was scrapped in 1948, without giving any more detail. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 19:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC) [reply ]
almost correct. British did not take Vittorio Veneto, nor USA took Italia. they were sent back to Italy, to be scrapped. Italy could keep Duilio and Doria. Italian Marina tried in every way to keep Vittorio Veneto and Italia instead of the other two battleships, but they were forced to crap them. their iron was used to reconstruct italian industry. 95.250.239.44 (talk) 16:48, 28 November 2023 (UTC) [reply ]
