Uncyclopedia talk:Unquotable
Rename?[edit source ]
Shouldn't we just call it UnQuote and all the pages would be called UnQuote:pagename? --Nerd42 00:36, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Well, "Unquote" made me wonder where the quote was. QuoteUnquote is a common phrase, and hides (somewhat) the fact that all these quotes are fake. Which is contrary to both Uncyclopedia and Undictionary. And UnNews. Haven't you noticed that I'm contrary? Worst case scenario is that we rename it later. - For clarity's sake, since I'm not always sane: What I was thinking was that we have Uncyclopedia:UnNews and Uncyclopedia:Undictionary so we should have Uncyclopedia:QuoteUnquote. But you are right in that we have Undictionary:A, etc. So most of the stuff here should be under QuoteUnquote:Pagename. As to whether we do Unquote or or QuoteUnquote, my comments above stand. Strategy[edit source ]
My devious plan is to move the "making up quotes" pages to QuoteUnquote:Person's Name. Thus Making up Oscar Wilde quotes would become QuoteUnquote:Oscar Wilde. Then we add in a bit of history about His Quotiness, a link to the real page (perhaps ala the wikipedia template, but to the uncyclopedia page) and display the quotes in all their glory. After that, we go back to the main Uncyclopedia page and add in a link to the QuoteUnquote page. Bone F clear.png Sir Famine , Gun ♣ Petition » 00:58, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC)
So, hows this work again?[edit source ]
Somebody must have put my Sun-Tzu quote up there as Quote of the Day today but it sure wasn't me .... how does the Quote of the Day work? --Nerd42 19:43, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- When the day is up, a red link appears there. You click, and
(削除) make up (削除ここまで)paste in the next quote. Easy as pie. I added in the Sun-Tzu quote yesterday. Bone F clear.png Sir Famine , Gun ♣ Petition » 00:14, 9 Dec 2005 (UTC)
just wondering...[edit source ]
Uhh, how much am I allowed to tamper with this, not being the author and all. I have lots of ideas, but I'm afraid I'm going to piss somebody off if I just go and try them. --Nerd42 20:26, 11 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Take some time, and really dig through Wikiquote. The goal is to parody it. That means you do almost the same as it, but you make it all up. Keep in mind, we ARE NOT MAKING UP QUOTES. They are real. At least, pretend that they are. Each page should be set up like QuoteUnquote:Sun Tzu, and therein make it look like the same sort of page you would find at Wikiquote:Sun Tzu. - ...guess Making up Oscar Wilde quotes was a really really really bad name for an article then. It kind of set a precedent for all future quotes pages.
By the way, on a similar note, I've redone Template:QuotesPages to reflect this whole "actually all the quotes are real" theme. --Nerd42 03:10, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
