- The vets only get upset when you make jokes about animals. Inside jokes are generally allowed. Most jokes here are made by people who are inside. - Depends what you mean by inside joke? A lot of writers here tend to refer to their other work within an article, or to other notable (or otherwise) articles. n00bs are allowed to use 6 in-jokes before being warned, and 3 times after before being banned. However, every time a n00b uses an in-joke, one point is put on their "penalty card", which is kept in secret cabal storage. There are 12 spaces of a penalty card, so if after their ban the n00b uses in-jokes 3 times again, their penalty card has been filled up and they are perma-banned. Be warned, however, that there are other ways to fill up penalty-cards, and that your penalty card is discarded after n00bdom and admins block you whevever they feel like it. ~ Ghelæ talk contribs 07:38, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

- I would say that (a) only inside jokes that are by themselves proper jokes can be used, (aka, AAAAAAAA is an acceptable joke, BENSON is not) (b) Jokes must be of quality, (aka, unless you think of a REALLY FUNNY Oscar wilde quote, don't include one. Please.) However, this also means that since the jokes are able to stand by themselves, there's no need for special rulings: only ruling that is needed is: Jokes must be funny, wherever they're from. (and cliches are NOT FUNNY.) Naturally however, this should only apply to the main pages: forum-talk, personal pages, and certain game pages (like multiplayer chess, which is sort of like a forum gamespace to begin with) should be exempt. --Quira 09:04, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't care if n00bs use inside-jokes, as long as they use them correctly (LORD knows I've had my fair share of inapproproiate kitten huffing references...). Some jokes, though, are best kept outside main articles, even if used right, cuz frankly, they're either stupid <cough>Euroipods</cough> or, nobody gets them <cough>Ouroboros</cough>....<cough>DiZ</cough>.
