Web browser by Mozilla with Gecko and WebKit engines. Offers tabbed browsing, HTML add-ons, Enhanced Tracking Protection, cross-device syncing, and privacy customization. Includes tools for developers and a 'Facebook Container' extension.
Finally! Firefox has a modern UI/UX. The only thing that I still dislike about the browser is excesive advertisment that is done within the app. Sure, you can turn most of it off by going in about:config and set the things you don't like to false, but that is just to much husle. If only Mozilla could've cut some of the adds for its other products and copy Vivaldi and give us the VPN as an extension we can uninstall, or Brave and gave us the AI stuff as a chat bot like in Brave, but in this case...
Comment summary: Firefox earns strong praise for its open-source foundation, privacy controls, cross-platform support, reliability, and unusually powerful customization and add-on ecosystem. Quantum-era releases improved speed and resource use, though experiences vary. Recurring criticisms include memory or CPU consumption, occasional freezes, compatibility problems, interface changes, discontinued legacy extensions, and weaker mobile performance. Some users still prefer Chrome or other Chromium browsers for speed and site compatibility.

A great browser that's lost it's way.
As of 8/6/17 Firefox has begun to collect user data in an attempt to collaborate with Online News Association (A VERY partisan organization,) in an attempt to collect data on "fake news" websites and prevent users from seeing them. There are also rumors that they have teamed up with Piere Omidyar and are providing the information to help with his "fake news" censoring agenda. Mozilla, however, has yet to comment on the supposed relationship as of 10/9/17.
The only relationship between Mozilla and the Online News Association (a nonpartisan group of journalists) is when Mozilla collaborated on A-Frame, an open source VR framework that journalists can use in to present their stories stories: https://blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/mozilla-empowers-journalists-power-frame/ . It's ironic that you are complaining about Firefox blocking "fake news" when your entire comment is essentially "fake news" and I am reading your comment on Firefox right now.

Firefox added a permanent VPN ad on Android in Version 157
Ill do my Cromite on Android and Chromium on Desktop combo.
If Firefox abuses trust and goodwill that much, i dont care about browser-monopoly then.
If they go bankrupt, its self inflicted and by now sadly deserved.

The normal Firefox is out of control. I use Firefox Dev as it uses a sensible amount of memory, about 600mb. The normal Firefox escalates upto 1200mb and my laptop is not happy. It's a shame as I was a big fan of Firefox.

For many the Internet is Google: Search, mail, videos, web browser, cloud services, mobile OS, etc. – Google is the major player in all these fields. But Google uses all data it gathers across its services to post targeted ads, and to massively profit from the data many share so freely with the Internet giant. Your personal data can also be subpoenaed by lawyers, including for civil cases like divorce. Google answered over 200,000 such data requests in 2020 alone.
More and more people are also realizing the risk of relying on one company for so many personal services. So, the time has come to stop this unlimited data mining and to take back our right to privacy. Here's a quick guide as to how you can use the Internet without sharing all your data with Google.

Mozilla Firefox is an open-source web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation. It uses the Gecko rendering engine for desktop versions and the WebKit layout engine for iOS. Firefox offers features such as tabbed browsing, spell checking, smart bookmarks, a download manager, private browsing, and a screenshot tool. It also provides web development tools, location-aware browsing, and an integrated search system.
Firefox supports add-ons coded with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the WebExtensions API. It also includes productivity, privacy, and personalization features like a URL autosuggest, reader mode, third-party cookie blocking, a built-in password manager, and customization options. It works seamlessly with Google products and offers a "Facebook Container" extension to prevent tracking by Facebook and Instagram. Users can sync their devices for cross-device access to tabs, history, and bookmarks. Other features include Enhanced Tracking Protection and a Picture-in-Picture mode.

Edited by ryngak•October 10totally agree, I've had to use a modified version for over a year now. They have confirmed your statements with the actions described here: https://thenationalpulse.com/breaking/mozilla-threatens-to-go-beyond-deplatforming-in-creepy-statement/

Solid browser, does not feel that modern, though
