the kernel. The ENE CB710 chipset controls the PCMCIA slot as well as
the card reader; the PCMCIA portion is backwards-compatible with an
older generation ENE controller (and is detected as such).

Short answer: PCMCIA: Yes, Card reader: no.
The controller is now listed in the Linux PCI ID repository
(http://pciids.sourceforge.net/iii/?s=1:i=1524(...)) which is a step in the
right direction, so there may be hope yet."
