Open /etc/cups/ppd/printername.ppd using a text editor.
(Where printername is your Brother machine's model name. It is not necessary to include dashes (-) in printername.)
Example:
/etc/cups/ppd/mfcj6910cdw.ppd
Donc
/etc/cups/ppd/mfcj5740dw.ppd
Confirm that your Brother machine's ppd file has the **DefaultResolution setting.*
If it does not, find the *FreeVM: "1700000" line and add *DefaultResolution: 600dpi below it as follows:
