This seems easy to solve: provide a test email account they can sign in with, so they can sign into something without testing with personal accounts.
Should they have worked a bit harder before pulling the app? Absolutely. But it seems pretty easy to resolve.

Indeed, I made this public because of the zero-strikes zero-notice removal, not because of the misguided review policy. (But also, K-9’s devs don’t run a mail server and I’m pretty sure that creating a gmail account for this and sharing the password would violate google’s TOS)
