Previous research

I have been a research fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO) since I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2011. My main area of research is development microeconomics, with a focus on culture, social institutions, and population- and health-related issues. I have conducted research projects relevant to these topics in several developing countries, including Bangladesh, Ghana, Malawi, and Tanzania. These projects have resulted in several articles, which were published in journals, as listed at my personal website.
