Finding Materials
Journals
- Recent issues are on the journal shelves on the 1st floor.
- The journal shelves are arranged first by region, second by country, and then in the alphabetical order of journal’s title.
- Back issues for recent years are on the 1st floor's journal shelves.
- Issues published before this are bound and retained on the retractable shelves on the 4th floor.

Newspapers
- You can read newspapers from several developing countries on the 1st floor.
- Newspaper shelves are arranged first by region, second by country, and then in the alphabetical order of the newspaper’s title.
- You can view newspapers on microform with a microform reader printer on the 1st floor.
- See Newspaper Collections at the IDE Library.
- Please inquire at the counter for the details.
Microform Materials
- You can view a microform collection with a microform reader printer on the 1st floor.
- Microform materials are held in closed stacks. Fill in the call number, year, etc., of the materials you want to view on the application form and present it to the staff at the counter. A staff member will retrieve the microform.
- Microform must be set in the microform reader-printer to be read. A staff member will do this for you.
- Return microform materials to the counter on the 1st floor after reading them.
- You can request microform copying at the counter on the 1st floor.
- Please make your reservation by phone or email for at least three business days to use the microform materials.

Maps
- Use the Map Catalog (in Japanese) to search for maps.
- Maps are held in map lockers. Fill in the call number of the map you want to view on the application form and present it to the staff at the counter located on the 1st floor.
- You can request map copying at the counter on the 1st floor.
- Please inquire at the counter for the details.
- Visitors to the library can use e-Journals and databases free of charge.
- A photocopying service is chargeable.
