The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Foreign-trained Nurses' Career Development and Retention in the Nursing Workforce

Outline

Many developed countries have recently increased the demand for nurses. The recruitment of foreign-trained nurses is a solution to this increasing demand. The aim of this research project is to examine the impact of the COVID-19 on the career development of foreign-trained nurses and their retention in the nursing workforce in a nurse-receiving country. The case is drawn from Indian-trained migrant nurses in the Health and Long-term care Sectors in the United Kingdom.
