The 10 Years of Industrial Reconstraction from Chilean Earthquake of 2010 (2020_2_40_028)

Outline

Ten years have been passed since the Great Earthquake of Chile 2010. The temporal negative shock on the Chilean macroeconomy and on local economies are already things of the past, and there is an apparent recovery of basic infrastructures. On the other hand, the replacement plan for coastal housing areas and the recovery of the coastal fishery industry are still underway. Against this backdrop, this study focusses on the differences in the industrial organization structures of the fisheries, agriculture-agribusiness, and forestry-pulp industry so as to explain the different paths of recovery from the aftermath of this great earthquake.
