Modi Government and the Prospects of India (2018_2_40_011)
Outline
Since the 1990s, India began exhibiting a metamorphosis via the introduction of economic liberalization, the intensification of caste and religious conflicts, and the testing of atomic weapons. However, the metamorphosis of the 1990s and the 2000s vis-à-vis the 2010s indicates a marked difference. Such difference looked to be mainly caused by various policies implemented by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which came to power in 2014. The main aim of this study is to delve into contemporary India’s transformation in the 2010s and to study the potential changes in the times to come.
