古代地中海史、特にローマ帝政前期のエジプトにおける政治・社会・文化史を研究しています。プトレマイオス朝からローマ支配への移行期における政治的・宗教的な連続性と変容を、パピルス・碑文史料の分析および考古学的知見を組み合わせて多角的に検討しています。

近年はデジタル・ヒューマニティーズ(DH)の手法を積極的に導入しており、ベイズ統計を用いたギリシア語碑文の欠損復元など、統計モデルを用いた歴史学研究の定量的評価や、AIと歴史学者の協働による新たな史料分析手法の構築にも取り組んでいます。

I specialize in ancient Mediterranean history, with a particular focus on the political, social, and cultural history of Egypt during the early Roman Empire. My research explores political and religious continuity and transformation during the transition from the Ptolemaic to the Roman period, employing a multifaceted approach that integrates the analysis of papyrological and epigraphic sources with archaeological evidence.

In recent years, I have actively incorporated Digital Humanities (DH) methodologies into my work. This includes the quantitative evaluation of historical research using statistical models—such as the restoration of lacunae in Greek inscriptions through Bayesian statistics—and the development of innovative source analysis techniques through collaboration between AI and historians.
