- Reach consensus on the page's talk page, and then request an edit by adding {{Edit protected }} to the talk page. (If the talk page is also protected, use Wikipedia:Requests for page protection § Current requests for edits to a protected page instead.)
- To fix errors on the Main Page, use Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors. For minor tweaks, make a request on Talk:Main Page.
- Revert an edit or a small number of edits? See Wikipedia:Reverting for how to easily do it yourself.
- Remove sensitive or offensive information or copyright violations from the article history? See Wikipedia:Revision deletion.
- Unblock you? See Wikipedia:Appealing a block.

- Answer some other question? Place {{Admin help }} on your talkpage and ask your question, or post it to the help desk.
- Do something else? Either contact a recently active administrator directly, or try the Administrators' noticeboard.
Administrators cannot...
- Decide disputes. If you are involved in a content dispute, use the dispute resolution process instead. However, administrators or other users can informally offer an opinion if you ask them privately on their user talk pages.
- Fix bugs. You can report them at Phabricator.
- Make someone an administrator. Only bureaucrats can do this, and only following community consensus at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship.
- Remove administrator status from someone. This is done by bureaucrats or stewards, and only on the request of the Arbitration Committee or by request of the administrator.
- Query the Wikipedia database. Ask at Wikipedia:SQL query requests, or download the database and run them yourself.
- Reassign edits or change your username. Ask a global renamer at Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Delete accounts. This is not possible. See Help:Delete account for alternatives.
- Protect pages from specific users or decide which version is "correct". See Wikipedia:Protection policy.
