Working in ADB's Nepal Resident Mission, Avani Dixit provides technical support on country-level policy and strategy work on climate change across different sectors and thematic areas, support project teams during project processing preparation and implementation by ensuring that climate change adaptation and mitigation components are properly identified and incorporated, and monitor project-level climate change interventions and other performance indicators. He co-leads the Building Adaptation and Resilience in the Hindu Kush Himalayas regional technical assistance project.

Prior to the ADB, he worked at the World Bank and United Nations in Switzerland and Nepal, where he helped design and implement several disaster risk assessment, risk management and climate change projects. He has Bachelor’s degree from Thammasat University in Thailand, and Joint-Master’s degree from a consortium of three European Universities: University of Reading (UK), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and University of Carlos III Madrid (Spain). He is currently pursuing a PhD degree on climate change.
