Frances Pinter CV
Over the years the company's works made a substantial contribution to shaping and reshaping academic disciplines as they are today, providing more relevant and rigorous methodologies and breaking the mold with new interdisciplinary approaches.
The first field in which the company became an acknowledged leader was International Relations. But already in 1979 it led the pack by introducing a whole genre of books examining the social and economic impacts of new technologies. It also had strong lists in development, human rights and linguistics.

In 1986 Pinter Publishers founded the Belhaven Press imprint, the first to concentrate solely on environmental matters. And in 1987 it acquired Leicester University Press – specialising in the humanities.
The company grew into one of the UK’s major specialist Social Science publishers, with exports accounting for over 80% of its sales. Expansion capital was raised from 3i and Lazards.
Pinter is a strategic thinker, successful at generating new ideas and raising the resources required for implementation.
