No. 60: 9 April 1940
The German invasion of Denmark took place on 9 April 1940. The royal government ordered the army not to resist, but in places they did anyway. We bring this story to Panzer Grenadier with 24 new pieces and four new scenarios. You’ll need Road to Dunkirk to play all of the scenarios.

Galicia 1914
Galicia 1914 is a Historical Study, telling the story of the Austro-Russian struggle during the first year of the Great War. It’s a companion book to Fall of Empires, Franz Josef’s Armies and Edelweiss Division.

Panzer Grenadier: Jarama River 1937
The bloodiest battle of the Spanish Civil War took place in February 1937 in the Jarama Valley east of Madrid. We tell this story in a complete game, with 341 pieces, three maps and 24 scenarios, and of course the historical depth you expect from an Avalanche Press product.

September 1939
September 1939 picks up the story from right after the initial German invasion of Poland until the end of the campaign. It’s a sequel to The Deluge, with 40 new scenarios plus of course background articles. You’ll need The Deluge, Fire in the Steppe and 1940: The Fall of France to play all of the scenarios.

Infantry Attacks: Edelweiss Division
In December 1914, the Austro-Hungarian 3rd and 4th Armies, including the elite 3rd “Edelweiss” Mountain Division, defeated the Russian 3rd and 8th Armies and ended the Russian attempts to capture Krakow and break through the Carpathian Mountains to invade Hungary. Edelweiss Division brings the story to your game table, with 88 new die-cut, silky-smooth playing pieces. You’ll need Fall of Empires, August 1914, and Franz Josef’s Armies to play all 30 scenarios.

Java Sea: Malay Barrier
Malay Barrier is a scenario and analysis book based on these plans, addressing the effect of additional British and American naval and air forces on the campaign, and added Japanese strength to counter them. We also take a look at how Force Z might have operated in both the East Indies and the Indian Ocean, had it arrived in the theater a little later or managed to escape destruction. You’ll need Second World War at Sea: Java Sea, Eastern Fleet and Midway Deluxe to play the 30 new scenarios.

1970: Black September
In September 1970, the Royal Jordanian Army attempted to eject the Palestine Liberation Organization from Jordan, prompting the Syrian Arab Army to intervene. 1970: Black September is based on these battles between Jordan on one side and Syria and the PLO on the other, and Jordan’s victory over Israel in the 1968 Battle of Karameh. The book includes 10 scenarios, plus historical background and two battle games. Requires 1967: Sword of Israel.

Panzer Grenadier: Mareth Line
Mareth Line is a Panzer Grenadier Campaign Study, focused on the battles along the Mareth Line in March 1943. It comes with 309 die-cut and mounted pieces, and ten new scenarios. This is not a complete game; you’ll need An Army at Dawn to play all of the scenarios.

Infantry Attacks: The Iron Dice of War
A complete game of the August 1914 Battle of the Ardennes between the German invaders of Belgium and the tough long-service regulars of the French Colonial Corps rushing to stop them. It comes with 421 playing pieces, five maps and 36 new scenarios.

Golden Journal No. 55: Flying Carriers
In the 1930’s, the U.S. Navy built a pair of huge airships capable of operating their own aircraft. Flying Carriers tells their story, and those of the planned flying carriers to follow, with 28 new die-cut and silky-smooth pieces plus scenarios so you can play with them in Java Sea and Midway Deluxe.

East Indies Campaigns
Japan invades the Dutch East Indies in 1914, in a campaign that never occurred, but many observers expected to happen. You get 45 new scenarios, using pieces from Cruiser Warfare, Rise of the Dragon and Jutland, on the maps from Java Sea or Plan Orange.

Rome at War: The Persian Front
Rome at War: The Persian Front is all about the campaigns fought by Imperial Rome and Sassanid Persia between 337 and 384 AD. Those included bloody field battles (including a true rarity in the ancient world, a large-scale battle fought at night) and epic sieges. It’s a two-stage game, much like our naval games: a simple operational game, where you move armies on a campaign map, and then the battles or sieges when they come together.

Sassanian Wars is a 128-page history of the Roman-Persian Wars of the 4th Century AD, between the Roman Emperors Constantius II and Julian the Apostate on the one side, and King of Kings Shapur II the Great of Sassanid Persia on the other. We talk about the campaigns, about the Sassanian and Roman societies and armies, and what brought these empires into a protracted and bitter struggle over lands neither particularly wanted.

Fall of Montenegro
A double-sized Campaign Study for Black Mountainbased on the 1914-1915 battles between Austria-Hungary and the tiny mountain principality. With 20 new scenarios and four new battle games. Requires Black Mountain and Fall of Empires.

Golden Journal No. 67: Erik the Red’s War
In 1931, Norway and Denmark almost went to war over ownership of Greenland. Now you can fight out this naval war that never happened, with the fleets both nations hastily laid down for it. A double-sized Journal with 60 new pieces and 24 new scenarios.

Fortress Przemyśl
A history/scenario book for Fall of Empires, based on the September 1914 - March 1915 Siege of Przemyśl in Galicia, a key fortress located today on the border between Poland and Ukraine. We tell you the story of the siege, the armies that fought it, and let you play out the drama in 30 new scenarios. Fortress Przemyśl is not a complete game. You’ll need Fall of Empires and Franz Josef’s Armies to enjoy all of the scenarios.

U.S. Navy Plan Emerald
The United States and Great Britain fight for Ireland in the early 1920’s, in a war that never happened but both sides anticipated. It’s part of our Red-Orange Naval War alternative-history story arc, and it has 40 scenarios and 210 pieces. You’ll need Jutland Second Edition (and only Jutland) to play them.

Annual No. 2: Ironclads: The Shogun’s War
In 1868 the nascent Imperial Japanese Navy fought to crush the forces of the Ezo Republic on the northern island of Hokkaido. These remnants of the Tokugawa Shogunate’s supporters had set up a Western-style republic and both sides deployed Western technology: steam ships, modern cannon, and for the Imperials, an ironclad. Ironclads: The Shogun’s War is a complete game and includes 90 die-cut and silky-smooth playing pieces, an 11x17-inch map (on heavy rigid stock), 10 scenarios and historical background.

Great War at Sea: U.S. Navy Plan Orange
The United States, Japan and Britain wage naval war in South-East Asia in the early 1920’s. 264 pieces (140 of the double-sized, four of them ultra-sized), 40 scenarios, three maps.

An expansion book for Sinai-Palestine based on Arab warfare between 1902 and 1926, featuring not only the Arab Revolt of 1916 but the Rise of the House of Sa’ud, the fall of the Rashidi Emirate and the British-Turkish campaign in Yemen. Great War at Sea: Gulf of Mexico
Spanish-American conflict in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, a story based on the U.S. Navy’s War Plan Olive. Includes a full-sized operational map that extends the map from Remember the Maine to include the full Gulf of Mexico, plus 160 new pieces and 40 new scenarios - you will need Remember the Maine and Jutland to play them all.

Golden Journal No. 58 (Deluxe): Darkness Falls
When German troops poured in Austria in March 1938, Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg ordered the Federal Army not to resist them. The Bundesheer would be absorbed into the German armed forces and 247,000 Austrian soldiers and 24,000 civilians would die in the war that followed (along with 65,000 Austrian Jews murdered). We study those events, the structore of the Bundesheer, and the never-executed Jansa Plan to defend against German aggression. You get 330 (!) new die-cut and silky-smooth pieces and 30 scenarios to help tell this story. You’ll need 1940: The Fall of France and Elsenborn Ridge to play all of the scenarios.

On 1 May 1898, the U.S. Asiatic Squadron destroyed the Spanish Pacific Squadron in Manila Bay. We study this battle, and the alternative ways it might have turned out with reinforcements on both sides, in 12 scenarios. Requires Java Sea (for the maps) and Remember the Maine 2e (for the pieces).

Panzer Grenadier: Ochi
The Italian invasion of Greece in October 1940 turned into a bloody failure in the Pindos Mountains, as the Greeks not only stopped the aggressors but invaded Italian-ruled Albania. We have this full story in a complete game, with 517 pieces, four mapboards, and 40 new scenarios.
