Platform Peril is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party and Mario Party 2 as well as a 4-Player coin-collecting minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree .

In the introduction in Mario Party and Mario Party 2, all of the players are seen standing in their respective starting positions. In Super Mario Party Jamboree, the players are instead seen walking along a red carpet.

During the gameplay, players jump from platforms in the sky on their way to the goal. There are coins on some of the platforms. Any player that either falls off or jumps into a brick structure (which is larger in Super Mario Party Jamboree) is eliminated. In the Mario Party 2 version only, there are also forward- and backward-moving conveyor belts as well as moving platforms. A player can weaken their opponent's jump and movement temporarily by jumping on them. Whoever makes it to the goal first wins. If all the players fall off the course, the minigame ends in a draw.

In the first two Mario Party games, the characters perform their usual poses from winning or losing, though in Super Mario Party Jamboree, a player does their defeat animation only if they end with no coins.

The minigame can be bought from the Mini-Game House in Mario Party for 450 coins when available or from Woody in Mario Party 2 for 50 coins.

Mario Party[edit ]

  • Game Rules – "These platforms will fall as you jump on them. Jump across the platforms and be the first to cross the goal line."
  • Game Rules (Mini-Game Island) – "Jump across the platforms as they fall out from under you. Cross the finish line first to clear the game."
  • Advice – "In various places above the plates, there are Coins floating in the air. The first one there gets them."

Mario Party 2[edit ]

  • Game Rules – "Jump across the platforms that fall from the sky, as you race to be the first to cross the finish line."
  • Game Rules (Mini-Game Coaster) – "Race across the platforms as they fall from the sky! Be the first to cross the finish line to clear."
  • Advice – "Some platforms have obstacles and conveyor belts, so watch where you jump and where you land."

Super Mario Party Jamboree[edit ]

Notes[edit ]

  • The Mario Party version plays an alteration of the Giant Land theme in Super Mario Bros. 3 .
  • Platform Peril and Archer-ival are the only two minigames in Mario Party 2 to reuse old victory and defeat animations.
