Kludge is a playable racer in Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast . He is a large, blue, and muscular Kremling with an "X" across his stomach, three white stripes on both arms, chains around his wrists, red eyes, and yellow shorts with a skull belt. His bongos are chained, are spiked on the top and bottom, and have a blue "X" on the sides. Kludge is the rival of Funky Kong. Kludge appears in two cutscenes: In the Cranky's Flight School cutscene, Kludge is seen training along Diddy Kong, Tiny Kong, and Kip, while in the Records cutscene, he is seen looking at a scoreboard with Tiny Kong, Funky Kong, Dixie Kong, and Kip. Kludge is an unlockable character, and the player can unlock him by completing the Diamond Cup as a Kremling. Kludge has low boost and agility, which is compensated for his top speed.
Kludge has a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl . In European versions of the game, Kludge's trophy reveals some of his characteristics. When Kludge is angry, he is rumored to cause trouble even for King K. Rool. He is described as simpleminded and has a hobby for eating. Due to his childlike manner, Kludge has become friends with Kip and Kass. The trophy for Kludge was completely rewritten for the NTSC release, focusing on the character's performance in Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast rather than details about the character himself, like in the PAL, Korean, and Japanese releases.
