Evil coins, referred to as pennies by Mario, are enemies that appear in Hotel Mario . They are found in only one hotel—Wendy's Blitz Snarlton Hotel. In this hotel, Mario and Luigi must be careful when collecting coins, as they may actually be evil coins in disguise. When they are approached, evil coins grow eyes, two heavy eyebrows, and a smirking mouth. Once Mario finds the piggy bank in the secret room where Wendy had hidden the real coins, they no longer become evil coins.
