Dog Mario is a form that appears in an animation made for the new year 2019 in the Shibuya Crossing square, made to celebrate the year of the dog.[1]

In this form, Mario obtains a full suit of a Shiba Inu, resembling the Cat Mario form. This form is acquired when Mario collects a coin with a dog face on it that appears from a ? Block. While in this state, Mario can run at higher speeds and becomes stronger. This form seems to be time-limited, and plays the Super Star theme.

Mario uses this form to destroy a giant golem controlled by Bowser and rescue a little Shiba Inu dog.
