Cameroon

Cameroon accounts for about 40% of the total GDP of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) and has a well-diversified economy, playing an important role in economic stabilization in the Central African region. On the other hand, despite its abundance of natural resources and land suitable for agriculture, the country's economic potential has yet to fully translate into solutions to poverty: its GNI per capita in 2021 was US1,590,ドル but the UNDP Human Development Index (2021) ranked it 151st out of 191 countries. JICA is providing assistance in the following priority areas: (1) promotion of agriculture and fisheries, (2) support for SMEs, (3) infrastructure development, and (4) conservation of natural environment.
