Tokamak Theory

In particular concentrating upon the ASDEX Upgrade Divertor Tokamak at IPP as well as collaborating with ITER , the proposed international test reactor.

Emphasis is placed upon understanding the energy confinement in tokamaks, turbulent plasma behaviour, the dynamics of the plasma edge, the determination of wall-loading and impurity production, the large scale magnetohydrodynamical instabilities, the heating through plasma waves and the modelling the processes in fast current disruptions.
