When the very beautiful, very successful and very popular actor Selena Gomez went public with her now fiancé, the music producer Benny Blanco (himself very successful, wealthy and popular), the public reaction was best described as ‘does not compute’.

At the Golden Globes ceremony earlier this year, the host, Nikki Glaser, mentioned the couple from the stage. "Selena Gomez is here with Benny Blanco... and Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish," Glaser joked. The inference here is that Gomez is a classic beauty, blessed with a face hand-sculpted by the gods themselves, and Benny... is not.
