Hogsmeade Village Collection Chest Locations
This page contains the locations of the Collection Chests that appear Hogsmeade Village, and how to find and unlock them, including which spells or resources you will need. Collection Chests here can either give random wand handle cosmetics or conjuration recipes for the Room of Requirement, and 5 of them can be found in the large all-wizarding town of Hogsmeade.
Shortly after starting your academia in Hogwarts and joining one of the four houses, you'll be able to start finding chests stashed in various locations — but only some of them have an icon appearing on the map that signifies them as a Collection Chest. Chests found in Hogsmeade come in two types; small chests with triangular lids that contain a random Conjuration Recipe to use in the Room of Requirement, and long cylindrical chests that hold a random Wand Handle Cosmetic.
There are 5 Collection Chests to be found in total in the village of Hogsmeade, but not all are available right away.
Hogsmeade Collection Chest 1
- Reward: Conjuration Recipe
One of the first Collection Chests you can find in Hogsmeade, but you'll still need to progress the story past The First Trial, until you have learned the Alohomora Spell from Mr. Moon when the season changes to fall.
Once you have gained the level 1 unlocking spell, return to The Three Broomsticks and climb to the very top of the tavern. There's a level 1 locked door leading to a Private Room, and inside you'll find the Collection Chest, along with a Demiguise Statue and Field Guide Page.
Hogsmeade Collection Chest 2

This Collection Chest will require you to have the maximum rank of Alohomora, which will require you to turn in 9, and then 13 more Demiguise Moons in order to get Rank 3 of the unlocking spell.
Once you have the highest Alohomora Spell rank, travel to the South Hogsmeade Floo Flame, and look around the side of the house it's placed at to find a level 3 door lock. Inside, you'll find the Collection Chest stashed away among other treasure chests.
Hogsmeade Collection Chest 3

This Collection Chest will require you to have the maximum rank of Alohomora, which will require you to turn in 9, and then 13 more Demiguise Moons in order to get Rank 3 of the unlocking spell.
Once you have the highest Alohomora Spell rank, travel along the southeast back roads of Hogsmeade to find the shop called Flutes and Lutes. Walk along the past just to the southwest of the Flutes and Lutes shop to find a smaller home with a level 3 door lock, and use Alohomora to enter and find another Collection Chest with some other treasure chests.
Hogsmeade Collection Chest 4

This Collection Chest will require you to have the maximum rank of Alohomora, which will require you to turn in 9, and then 13 more Demiguise Moons in order to get Rank 3 of the unlocking spell.
Once you have the highest Alohomora Spell rank, go to the Central Hogsmeade Floo Flame located at the village square, and travel east past Honeydukes to a group of two houses along the ridge. The northernmost of these two houses has a level 3 lock on the door, and you can use Alohomora to gain entry. Inside you'll find the Collection Chest.
Hogsmeade Collection Chest 5

While this Collection Chest does not require any unlocking spells, you will need to advance the story until you find a side quest called A Basis for Blackmail. This is a Natsai Onai relationship quest that has you tracking an Ashwinder Hideout located in a cellar below the Hog's Head Inn.
If this is the first time you’re entering the cellar, cast Accio to pull the barrel handles to open the secret entrance. Then, defeat all the enemies inside.
Past the bar on the west side of the room, there is an entrance to barrel storage space. Cast Lumos, if needed, to help light your surroundings. Find the Collection Chest in the first nook.
