Flappy Bird Tips

Updated:

Flappy Bird's game play is simple, but these tips will help you advance much further through the tyrannical encroachment of the pipes.

Read on to improve your game!

The Top is More Dangerous Than The Bottom

Most novice Flappy Bird players make the mistake of over-flapping. Fearing they will fall, they hug the top of the pipes, and die again and again from head bashes.

Don't Be Afraid to Fall

Your bird accelerates as he falls, and many players panic, unnecessarily flapping to keep the bird near the middle of the screen. You don't need to do that. A single flap instantly breaks all downward inertia, and it doesn't matter whether that flap comes mid-screen or near the bottom. You're safe either way.

Harness Gravity's Rainbow

Your bird doesn't fall in a clean arc. Gravity drives his trajectory ever downward, building an accelerated descent. When you jump, take into account how far you'll descend in the seconds afterward.
