Research Platform
EFSA’s Research Platform is home to the food safety research community. It aims to support project ideas, promote consortia formation, and help scientists find opportunities for public research funding in food safety.
The platform was created in response to a request for better coordination in the area of food safety research at EFSA’s first Risk Assessment A specialised field of applied science that involves reviewing scientific data and studies in order to evaluate risks associated with certain hazards. It involves four steps: hazard identification, hazard characterisation, exposure assessment and risk characterisation Research Assembly (RARA), where participants called on EFSA to be a knowledge-broker between scientists and policy makers.
