The mission of the Center for Gifted Education Policy is to generate public awareness, advocacy, clinical applications, and cutting-edge research ideas that will enhance the achievement and performance of children and adolescents with special gifts and talents in all domains, including the academic disciplines, the performing arts, sports and the professions.

Rena Subotnik, director of the Center for Psychology in Schools and Education, a conference keynote speaker, is interviewed here by Professor Dr. Christian Fischer, from The International Center for Talent Research and the University of Muenster (Germany). The conference served as a gathering for a joint initiative of the German federal government and the states to promote high-performing and potentially high-performing students funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Conference of Ministers of Education. -

IBM Gifted Children Videoopens in new window
In 1939, IBM took equipment from New York World’s Fair and set up a laboratory for 30 girls and boys who applied for the opportunity. This innovative idea played a big part in those children’s lives. Three children even went on to receive the Nobel Prize later in their lives (Baruch Blumberg in Physiology/Medicine; Roy J. Glauber in Physics; and Joshua Lederberg in Physiology/Medicine). -
