About APA
Office of Communications
APA Communications raises the visibility of psychology and psychological science and advances its impact in people's lives in keeping with APA's strategic priorities. Led by the Chief Communications Officer, the group serves as a communication partner with APA governance, executive leadership, directorates and enabling functions (e.g., Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology Services). We deliver services via the following offices:
- Editorial
- Digital Strategy & Service
- Strategic External Communication and Public Affairs
- Convention & Meeting Services
- Executive, Employee, and Governance Communication
- Brand and Creative
- Public Engagement and Community Outreach.
These teams:
- Develop and implement the association's brand and content-first strategy
- Set strategic communication direction in keeping with APA's strategic plan and the brand
- Oversee traditional and digital communication channels, including: apa.org, monthly magazines (The Monitor on Psychology , Good Practice), Speaking of Psychology podcast, APA's YouTube channelopens in new window and other videos, APA Conventionopens in new window, public education campaigns, partnerships, social media engagement and internal communications.
- Manage relationships with media and proactively pitch stories that support the APA narrative
- Engage in public conversations on issues important to psychology and psychologists.
