Purpose

World Nuclear Association, the international organisation representing the global nuclear industry, is seeking to recruit a new position within its Operations department The role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance and administration of the Association’s websites, to ensure that they appropriately represent the organisation both internally and externally, and are easy to navigate. There is an opportunity to work at a strategic level, to work closely with colleagues in all Departments to identify future needs of the Association in terms of IT demands, and project manage those needs from start to finish. The role will have significant interaction with the Communication & Marketing department given the requirement to produce and promote content in the external environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all matters relating to our four websites (World Nuclear Association, World Nuclear University, World Nuclear News and Net Zero Nuclear), our members-only website, any future websites, as well as the underlying Customer Relations and Content Management Systems ensuring compliance with the Association’s overall goals and values
  • Managing and maintaining the Association’s websites’ infrastructure, both software and hardware, as well as any related contracts and services, and ensuring that it is up-to-date and functional, including its interfaces with internal Association processes. This also includes ensuring the data integrity, security and cybersecurity of all the Association’s websites’ infrastructure.
  • Curating the content, the voice and the brand, including text, images and videos, of all Association external facing websites to showcase the programs, products and initiatives of the Association, our members and our partners, in close collaboration with all departments.
  • Proactively collaborating with all other departments and stakeholders to ensure that the websites meet their needs and goals.
  • Analysing website traffic and user behaviour data to make data-driven decisions about website design and content.
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and trends in web design and development, including AI technology, and making recommendations for how to incorporate them into the Association’s website, and to continuously improve the Association internal working processes.
  • Work with external partners to maintain and optimise our website hosting infrastructures.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues that arise with the website.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Marketing.
  • Experience in the understanding of web analytics (Google Analytics, WebPageTest, New Relic, etc) and SEO best practices.
  • Proven experience managing and developing websites, as well as knowledge of web development languages and technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, ASP.Net, SQL, and CMS platforms.
  • Understanding of web standards, web accessibility, and browser compatibility.
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and video design/editing purposes.
  • Familiarity with principles and best practices of web security and cybersecurity.
  • Strong understanding of website performance optimization.
Person Specification
  • Communication/collaboration skills: Proven track record of being able to work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building strong relationships with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Project management skills: Strong project management skills, in order to oversee the development and implementation of the organization’s websites, along with an ability to prioritize competing needs.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyse website traffic and user behaviour data to make data-driven decisions about website infrastructure (hardware and software), design and content.
  • Web marketing skills: Understanding of web analytics, SEO, and PPC are essential for successfully optimizing the website for search engines and increasing the organization’s online presence.
  • Web design skills: Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design and familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and trends and make recommendations for how to incorporate them into the organization’s website.
  • Problem-solving skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues for identifying and resolving technical matters with the website.
