Quantum Chromodynamics

The theory created in 1973 to describe the behavior of elementary particles. It treats quarks as being held together by a chromoelectric field carried by gluons.

Lattice quantum chromodynamics is a discretized version of quantum chromodynamics developed by K. Wilson in 1974 which replaces the continuum with a 4-dimensional grid.
