Documentation

There is no transcript available, as the slides are pretty self explanatory. Notes of the the questions and answers to each speaker were taken down.

  • Q: Was there a reason to use a [Wikimedia Commons] "campaign" rather than other means of upload forms?
  • Ivana: Actually, we don’t have any experience with other forms, so it was the most practical one.
  • Q: Did you have a Wikimedian in Residence for this partnership?
  • Ivana: We had someone for specific trainings, but not during the whole partnership (for various reasons).

  • Q: Don't you think the standing of Wikimedia Canada is strong enough to survive another change in leadership of the GLAM?
  • Benoit: Indeed, we do have roots know in the Banq. We think a vague agreement can be beneficial to the partnership, because it's easier to pursue new projects.
  • Q: What's the usual scope of attendance for your events? And how is the communication for the regular events?
  • Benoit: Usually, between 10 and 60 people are attending the regular events, with high fluctuation and high impact of weather conditions. The Banq announces the individual events, however we have experienced that a certain regularity helps to attract a steady audience.

  • Q: I’ve heard (and had the experienced) that GLAM institutions in post-socialist countries tend to be closed-minded, so I’m surprised by your presentation.
  • Ljubisa: Actually, institutions actually approached us in many cases, so it’s hard to generalize for all "post-socialist" countries. Our main message with them is to promote cultural and natural heritage, that works quite well.

  • (No questions to Richard.)
