Goals
[edit ]We think we met the goal. We originally planned to 12 participants received data packages to support their participation at Wikimania, 12 participants received hardware support. We were able to share interesting Wikimanina videos with Wikimedia Levant Community, all applicants have received funding.

Learning
[edit ]Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
- We have had an open communication channel between Wikimania participants from our user group in order to help exchange sessions of interest, share learnings, and attend together.
- Many of the participating members where newbies, thanks to the encouragement and mentorship of their colleagues and support from the grant funds.
- Our members successfully led and presented the following Wikimania sessions with the grant support:
- What did not work so well?
- We planed to host separate in-person meetups to share the knowledge and discuss the topics. Unfortunately, Covid-19 restrictions prveneted that.
- We were not able to directly link the Wikimania participation to our work by inviting volunteers to attend sessions or tracks that are specifically tailored to their areas of interest.
- There was no engagement of the User Group members who did not attend, nor any follow up post the conference about the takeaways from it.
- What would you do differently next time?
- More personalized recommendations and guidance for User Group members to be able to attend the sessions best suited for their skills and interest.
- Documentation of learnings and takeaways from the conference to share with other members asynchronously and for future follow up.
