Topics to be discussed

• registration fee : yes or no, if yes, how much ?
• cooperation with deutsche welle
• media competition - acceptable formats for entries (especialy relating to free formats)
• media competition - sponsorship for prizes... what is permitted for this?
• Timeline : see planning and deadlines
• Jimbo has his list of heavy-hitter big potential sponsors and will be approaching them individually to ask for sponsorship. We should set up different levels of sponsorship (platinum, gold, etc.) with various benefits (whatever that means). We should also have a good explanation of how the money will be used (real-time interpreters, cost of the venue, speakers fees?). Jimbo plans to make these phone calls on Monday, January 17 to give us time to iron out the details.

• Elian, Jimbo, Angela, Eloquence, Aphaia, notafish, Akl, Sj, Sansee, Amgine, presroi, Anthere, BesigedB, Waerth, PatrickD, JRM ...and others I may have forgotten, sorry about that.

Committees are renamed "Teams" at Elian's request.

Speakers will include :

• Invited speakers
• Spontaneous applications:ask for submission of an abstract for other people around declared topics

• 14 February 2005 : Call for papers announced, press release
• 15 May 2005 : Deadline for abstract submission
• Lightning or Posters sessions:anyone interested may apply and submit a poster -type presentation that will be displayed during the conference (full details to be finalized).

• Package levels to be finalized : 30 000 € / 10 000 € / 5 000 € / 1000 € (?)
• We need to finalize what kind of visibility/return the sponsors will have.

• Deutsche Welle multilingual network of TV, radio. Financed by the German government.

• the German national Library will give us guided tours on Friday and on Monday. We can set the time between 8:00 and 16:00. Taking pictures will be allowed.

• Translation of meta pages for advertisement and press releases -Work on an explanation/presentation of the event and its translation in as many languages as possible before sending out press releases

• 16 January : Write summary of what wikimania is all about (core of press release and inter-project advertisement) [Elian, Sj (for CfP)]
• 23 January : Finalized presentation of the event in as many languages as possible and advertisement on all projects [Anthere, notafish]
• 14 February : finalized translation of press releases where needed [Angela->Michael Snow, Akl, others]

• Needs to be prior to registration to adjust format and languages
• Emphasis on the possibility that there will be simultaneous translation if enough people show interest

• Erik sees with Brion what the whole thing will look like
• Think about the credit card possibilities
