Title: Here be dragons: Uncharted regions of the bibliographic commons
[edit ]Abstract:
[edit ]As WikiCite—an initiative to build a collaboratively curated knowledge base of sources—enters its third year, I look back at the progress we've made so far as a community. While many topic areas are well explored, and tools for data ingestion and curation are flourishing, other regions of the bibliographic commons are still uncharted, have sparse data and limited data models, and are unevenly curated. This year represents a pivotal moment for the project to identify possible growth scenarios and to address critical gaps: I'll present different ways in which our community and partners can mobilize and set a course for the future of the initiative.
