Whose Knowledge?/Drop-in July 2022
The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees will renew 2 seats in 2022, and the election process is on the road. This election is an opportunity to advocate for a Board that represents the values and politics of knowledge justice, and to center the people that are doing critical work for the community, but are often in the margins.
Come to one of our community Drop-in sessions, on July 7 and 11, and join the conversation!
About the elections process
[edit ]Whose Knowledge? is a thematic User Group of the Wikimedia Movement, and we have one vote as such. With our vote, we are participating in the selection of a shortlist of 6 candidates from 12 that are running.
The voting period for Affiliates is July 1-15. Affiliates vote through a representative and, on this occasion, Mariana Fossatti, the Decolonizing Wikimedia coordinator of Whose Knowledge?, will vote on behalf of this User Group. But the idea is to do this in a collective way!
That's why we are inviting members of our User Group, our own Board, and our broader community to have a conversation in the next few weeks before voting.
