West Bengal Wikimedians/Asset

This is the policy to handle the West Bengal Wikimedians User Group assets.

• The assets mentioned below are not personal properties of user group members, program leads or custodians. They are common asset of the user group which are to be used for execution of user group projects and events.
• The assets mentioned below are the responsibilities of concerned program leads, who take care of them. They are also responsible for servicing of those and repair, if damaged, throughout the normal acceptable life span of the product.
• Any user group member, currently residing in West Bengal, who require any of these products to execute any project or event, needs to fill up this form and send a mail to wbg-representative@googlegroups.com to submit a formal request for his/her requirement.
• Depending upon the experience of the requester to handle the product, along with the availability and current use of the requested product, the current custodian may hand it over to the concerned requester.
• While receiving any requested product, the requester will thoroughly check if the product is in good shape and ready to use and then sign an understanding with the current custodian clarifying both of their satisfaction. The written understanding will then be sent to wbg-representative@googlegroups.com as a way of documentation.
• The current custodians will be solely responsible for regular servicing of the products, if needed, throughout the normal acceptable life span of the product.. The cost of servicing will be borne by the user group through it fund applications.
• The current custodians will be solely responsible to inform the user group and repair from authorized dealers from their own expenses, if any of the product under their custody, is damaged.
• If any of the product under their custody is lost for whatsoever reason, the current custodians will inform the user group and buy an exact or similar model from their own expenses.
• All these assets are intended to be used throughout its life span or the entire duration of our projects, whichever lasts longer. If a project ends and the products used there remains in usable conditions, they will be used in other suitable projects. If no such projects exist, then they will be replaced or upgraded with other suitable products based on the need of the hour.
