I reverted your edit on af.wiki. If I remeber correctly Jakatra was a village not far from the Dutch settlement Batavia in the 17th cent. The Indonesians renamed the (much expanded) Batavia to Jakarta centuries later. Why the matathesis I don't know. But in historical sources people speak of Jakatra. Hi, thanks for your message. However, the text I edited refers to the 19th century, so I don't think a historical name from the 17th century (which is more often referred to as Jayakarta btw, if I looked this up correctly) should be used there, it seems slightly anachronistic in this place. --Icodense (talk) 20:38, 14 April 2024 (UTC) Reply

After further research, as I found this random metathesis of these two letters pretty interesting: I think it has never really been called Jakatra (apart from typos), the transposed r and t only seem to be originally found in the spelling Jacatra in Portuguese documents, I guess this spelling derives from an error of Tomé Pires. --Icodense (talk) 20:46, 14 April 2024 (UTC) Reply

Hello, hope you're doing well! yesterday i reported bunch of unused files which were also copyrighted, but no one processed to delete them, did i report anything wrong by any chance? or i shouldn't have reported them in the first place? couple of years ago i used to clean up Small wikis from Copyrighted files, and they were normally processed and deleted. : ) 🌸 Sakura emad 💖 (talk) 04:04, 3 August 2026 (UTC) Reply

Hi! I only handled a few relatively obvious cases on GSR yesterday as I returned from a day trip and was tired, so I didn't want to touch anything which required any real decision-making. Also I'm not an expert for copyright stuff and I became GS relatively recently, so I hadn't seen how others processed any similar requests yet. I also know there are some differences between some wikis which files are deemed acceptable. I'll take a look at it today. --Icodense (talk) 06:09, 3 August 2026 (UTC) Reply

I've deleted all the files now. One logo imo clearly didn't reach the threshold of originality, but there was a higher-quality version of the same logo on Commons, which was used in this project anyway instead of the local upload, so I deleted this one as well. --Icodense (talk) 06:54, 3 August 2026 (UTC) Reply
