Talk:Wiki Loves Asian Cuisines
Add topicI just wanted to say how amazing the Wiki Loves Asian Cuisines initiative is! Asia has such a rich and diverse culinary history, and it’s incredible to see efforts to document and share that with the world through Wikimedia.
Food is such a big part of our lives and cultures—it connects people and tells stories. I’m really excited to see how this project grows and how the community comes together to contribute. Huge thanks to everyone involved in organizing this!
Looking forward to seeing all the delicious contributions. Let’s make this a big success! -- Suyash Dwivedi (talk) 08:55, 9 December 2024 (UTC) Reply
- Thank you, Suyash, for this positive feedback. We appreciate it. We see that this initiative will greatly impact Asian cuisine representations through images in Wikimedia Commons and then increase the traffic to Wikipedia when viewers want to learn more about the cuisines. Before we even know it, we might even bring in new contributors through this initiative. :) That's what we are also hoping to see. Thank you! Wiki Asmah (talk) 14:23, 9 December 2024 (UTC) Reply
We in Malaysia have had a similar project called WikiSelera, which focused on photos of Malaysian dishes. Expanding it through Wiki Loves Asian Cuisines can be a great opportunity to highlight cuisines not just from Asia, but also cuisines of other countries developed by Asian communities. - Thank you for this input, @Ultron90. We would be glad for this project to be an international extension for local projects on highlighting Asian cuisines. We hope for success! Wiki Asmah (talk) 13:20, 13 December 2024 (UTC) Reply
