Hello. I'm asking myself why speedy deletions are not archived, contrary to every other steward requests...

Historically, I understand that they were not enough to be archived. But yet, with the advent of global sysopship, there are more and more speedy deletions requests, and some are discussed before being done. That's why I propose that speedy deletions (without the ones reported by bot) will be archived as every other steward requests.

No. If we start archiving CSD requests, then all people (global sysops, stewards, etc) should start making a notice about any deletion they do. It doesn't matter to know who requested a deletion. There is no reason why we should archive such request. Most things on meta and other wikis are already bureaucratic enough. No need for more subpages no one ever looks at. -Barras 14:54, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

AFAIK most projects don't archive speedy deletions, as opposed to regular deletions, because speedies are by definition supposed to be uncontroversial. (Exception: fr.wikipedia.) I don't think there's any need to archive them on this page -- the vast majority of requests here are "please delete this - done" anyway, and any requests are still visible in the archive and the deleting user's logs. Okay, I see, and that's probably why Meta:Requests for deletion is archived as well and that this page is not... However there are some requests that are big enough to require a discussion and I think it would be better to keep it on a page. I also think it's unnecessary. When marking a page to deletion, it is categorized on the project and not here. This page works to inform about these speedy deletion requests from different projects all in one page. Instead of being categorized and automatically listed/removed it have to be done manually and that's the only difference. I just added this page to steward requests. A tool that shows an overview of open steward requests. It might be useful for global sysops too. --Erwin 10:42, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
