I have objections against the request as there is no indication that the rules which are applied have any validity. If there is a procedure to request permissions there should also be one to voice objections. The system cannot be one-sided. Afil 02:42, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

The stewards do not make decisions regarding permissions, the actual granting of permissions is done on the local wiki, and once consensus has developed there, a trusted member of the community comes here to have that community decision implemented. Since stewards apparently don't like to give users temporary sysop rights if their only intent is to clean up the CSD because they'd rather do it themselves, is there a way to submit such cleanup requests or do you have to write a request here and wait until a steward reads it, cleans up and then rejects the request? -- Prince Kassad 21:00, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

I propose using {{sr-request}} for all requests on this page. The template provides links to the account's contributions and logs, a bureaucrat activity analysis script, the local bot policy (if implemented), and can easily be extended with various tools and links, and simplifies usage:

Implemented. I also added a magic link to Special:Userrights with the user@prefix correctly filled out (using a redirect at toolserver.org/~pathoschild/redirspecial). No more guessing or looking up prefixes! :) —{admin} Pathoschild 01:13:40, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
