- Reason: The Sol identity has gone to a zombie account, that hasn't been touched in 12 years. There have been no replies to my inquiries to that account from 2 years ago. I'd like the current zombie Sol account to be renamed (to Sol_1 for example) and get my username back by renaming Sol451 to Sol again. I am an active user that was thrown out of his Sol account in favor of a zombie user. Sol is a personal brand of mine and I'm know like that across platforms. - I respect the decision. However, even though he legitimately uploaded files to Wikimedia Commons, the SUL finalization changed his username to "Saurabh~metawiki" on other Wikimedia projects. This inconsistency creates confusion, and standardizing the username would ensure uniformity and clarity across platforms for him, which would also help me maintain some anonymity. - I don't think that would be a problem - the only thing that might be an issue here is the block on hrwiki for vandalism. The blocking admin is no longer a sysop, but if the hrwiki admins are fine with us processing this request, we can rename as usual. EPIC (talk) 08:58, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Done. Due to the fact that both accounts are really old and inactive since more than 10 years while the requesting user is a highly active member of the dewiki community, the rename is not problematic in my opinion and can be processed after this detailed review. Next problem, the hrwiki block: only 15 edits + old block from 2018, rename doesn't seem to be conceal or obfuscation of bad conduct (per global rename policy) and therefore not stopping a rename.
