From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

SamoaBot is currently approved on ksh.wiki, mt.wiki, br.wiki, el.wiki, hu.wiki and fy.wiki; it also runs on ia.wiki (without botflag) and has made over 1,240,000 global edits (of which about 1,160,000 on Wikidata).

I had a piece of JavaScript code, which I've quickly rewritten into Python, and now it removes many interwiki links that Addbot doesn't, mainly by following redirects and "normalizing" namespace names.

I would be glad to help with global removal of interwiki links, especially since it's approved on Wikidata and I could soon run a script to import remaining interwikis. --Ricordi samoa 14:54, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

The same task, I think (but not the same code). However, Legobot "skipped" many minor wikis. --Ricordi samoa 16:50, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Comment Comment I don't know what's other stewards' opinion, but I'm no more comfortable to grant new flags to interwiki bots. Indeed, with the advent of Wikidata we do not really need more interwiki bots, on the contrary we should better remove some of them. Agreed. Even though Wikidata - afaik - does not support interwiki links on user pages, I don't think it's necessary that interwiki links on user pages be managed by bot. --MF-W 19:08, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Not done No need for this. Please also refrain from running interwiki.py under your main account just to add interwiki links on your userpages. This is highly unnecessary, as your userpages on all the wikis don't contain anything valuable. No need to have interwiki links from e.g. av:User:Kolega2357 to sm:User:Kolega2357.
