There are already six wiki projects now in Arabic, Arabic Wikipedia is ranking 28 by number of articles, Arabic Wikisource is ranking number 19. It wouldn't be a bad time for a Simple start of Arabic Wikiversity. Looking forward your support. --Ciphers 02:31, 27 January 2009 (UTC) [reply ]

- Support It will no doubt work ! --LogicBloke 16:52, 1 June 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
- Support It is not a state of number of articles in my opinion. It's however a state of site availability. Sometimes I feel bored editing or translating an existing article in Wikipedia and feel the desire to jump into another site that can help the student as a beginner. For this reason I think of wikiversity as good chance to commence these basics as initiatives.--Email4mobile 00:12, 5 June 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
- Support Definitely a good idea for arabic-speaking people to cooperate on academic matters since arab governments seem not to like to do this together. Would be worthwhile and i believe the contribution will be sufficient, especially if universities in arab countries are partnered 86.14.106.237 19:34, 6 June 2009 (UTC) [reply ]

- i like to know what good this can bring that cannot be achieved at ar wp and ar wikibooks (esp the last is imo dead). don't you think the focus should be - for some time - ar wp. Санта Клаус 23:31, 31 January 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
- It may not bring any good now, not in a month nor even a year, or it may do! Wikimedia is not providing an educational service rather than the infrastructure for it. We have to help building this infrastructure, and surly the time will come when people will make good of it. --Ciphers 17:54, 1 February 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
- The good thing I'm looking forward to is seeing this wikiversity in an academic view. Ar Wikipedia should be talking about facts but not necessarily a dedicated tutor, whereas Wikiversity can do so.--Email4mobile 20:19, 5 June 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
Not yet
I don't think it is the time for the creation of ar.wikiver yet. we have a long way to go before we even think of it. I think my position in this issue is known to ar.wp users. sure, there is enthusiasm now, but after some time, the wiki will be deserted. I'm not a pessimist, really, it is a matter of volunteer scarcely. IMO, there is no need to disperse the efforts of the small number of intelligent users we have now, on creating a new wiki while their energy would be best spent on enhancing arwp. I would appreciate it if you think of that. btw, localization stats are irrelevant here.--Alnokta 10:36, 2 February 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
- I'm in no way trying to dictate what other users should do with their time. (just telling what I think).--Alnokta 10:38, 2 February 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
Localisation update
- Currently 100.00% of the MediaWiki messages and 98.20% of the messages of the extensions used by the Wikimedia Foundation projects have been localised. Localisation of these messages is a requirement before your request is finally assessed. This is the recent localisation activity for your language. Thanks, GerardM 14:38, 28 January 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
- Localisation of extensions used by WMF messages is back to 100% as usual. The missing 1.8% was due to some recent messages Werdna added to Extension:AbuseFilter that weren't localised. --Meno25 21:26, 2 February 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
- The localisation is complete at this time and, it generally is for Arabic. GerardM 07:58, 16 February 2009 (UTC) [reply ]
Please complete the localisation. It is the only step needed before approval. SPQRobin (talk) 11:37, 2 June 2011 (UTC) [reply ]
- Done. --Meno25 15:59, 9 July 2011 (UTC) [reply ]
