Dear "Vituzzu", as I tried to deliver some additional information to the WIKIPEDIA Website https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_Radio_%26_Telefon_AB, I got the sad message that you had me blocked since June 25, 2016 with the reason "leaky colo + open proxy at 179.43.188.22" !

As I'm just a normal Internet user, no computer expert, and not familiar in editing WIKIPEDIA articles, please help me that I can regain the access.

Alla fine avevo trovato scritto da qualche parte qui che servivano 5 voti con almeno l'80% di voti positivi. E dato che erano numeri raggiungibili senza magheggi vari (ho visto piccole wiki far votare gente con 0 edit proveniente da altre wiki per avere il flag) finalmente siamo riusciti ad avere il flag senza scadenza. Per quanto riguarda il flag da burocrate servirebbero, a quanto ho letto, 15 voti dunque aspetteremo di avere una comunità più grossa, che mi va di far le cose per bene. Hi Vituzzu. My account was lately compromised and used by a malicious librarian/revenge opponent of my university. I just came to know (when I logged in after 2 long months) that my account was blocked indefinitely on the English Wikipedia. I never thought I'd meet someone with such intents of blasphemy, as to going ahead and performing LTA pro-proponents. I'm suspicious into this and think he'd use my account (after scraping my pass from an online forum) and confirm himself as a known LTA. I've contacted ca@wikimedia.org and the trust and safety specialists at trustandsafety@wikimedia.org and hope the local stuff for that gets quickly resolved. But before I make an appeal to SRG, I just want to ask first, just what is an open proxy, and how do I avoid it? I have read the Wikimedia NOP policy page, but I still don't understand... • The IP address in my accommodation in England is also blocked, apparently since 2016, even though I think I added entries a few months ago from here, but I may be mistaken. I am a prolific contributor of Macedonian entries and this block will prevent me from making further contributions until I return to Macedonia in the summer. Is there any way for this to be circumvented, other than me having to go to a library or an Internet cafe in order to work on Wiktionary? Since I have already added most words I could think of and now mostly add words that come up in things I read, this would be impractical. It would take a long time to gather enough words to make a trip to the library worthwhile and I would have to go to the effort of writing them down before adding them. I am trying to edit on Wikivoyage but I am unable to do so and given this message: "Your IP address is in a range which has been blocked on all wikis.

I am editing using a private VPN as I live in China where Wikipedia is heavily monitored and presently completely blocked (since a few weeks ago). I am an administrator and check user on Wikibooks and volunteer with OTRS. The place to appeal against global blocks is Steward requests/Global.

Hi! You seem to have blocked more or less the whole IP-range belonging to the hosting provider vultr.com. The reason you have given is that there are open proxies within this range. That might be true, but this is a huge provider with lots of customers. I am one of them and on my VPS there are definitely no open proxies. Rather I use it as personal VPN to access the internet. This means I am not able to edit Wikipedia whatsoever. Please reconsider this blanket ban. My IP address is 45.77.252.56. Thank you

Je ne comprends même pas de quoi il s'agit... j'ai internet chez moi, où je vis seul, et cet internet n'est partagé qu'avec mon téléphone, mon téléviseur et mon système d'alarme, chacun étant sur son propre VLAN... Il est parfaitement sécurisé avec pare-feu, antivirus et VPN et je n'ai aucune idée de la raison pour laquelle ce steward a décidé de fermer mon accès...
